The sun upon the ruins of old,
Where treasured are troves of gold
And waiting in the shadows frame
Is the beast of light’s bane.
In the moon’s bleary light,
Hear the beast howl and fear its might.
Take the sun, and take the rain,
And lead the traveler in pain.
Bring him warmth and bring him life.
For his world has known naught but strife.
Wait in the morning sun
As the day has begun
Traveler slept and traveler left
He has left you and the rest.
He has gone and he returns
To the place where his fire burns.
He is left once more for the place
Where in an ancient race
For the treasures has long begun
Though many have tried, none have won.
For the beast has never lost its prey
To the light of this very day.
So heed a warning that’s been tried –
And proven in the ones who’ve cried.
Those ruins call and they seek
One who’s life-fire is not weak.
Traveler, traveler, fallow him close
He will lead to one who knows
The secrets that will show the way
To the place where it cannot be day.
And face the beast, face him with might
Else you will lose the fight.
Traveler, traveler, trust him well,
As it is he who will save you from hell.
